PLAYSTATION FEVER

Playstation II WILL be a phenomenon:

As Macworld Expo/Tokyo 2000 drew to a close, PlayStation Festival 2000 took over the Makuhari Messe convention center here to offer the second public display of the much-anticipated PlayStation 2 gaming console from Sony. When the show opened on Friday, streams of people poured out of the Makuhari train station to find a huge line that snaked around the block. The PlayStation 2 is due to ship here on March 4, and its U.S. debut is slated for sometime in the fall. In the meantime Japanese enthusiasts can pre-order the gaming console from the PlayStation.com Web site for 39,800 yen (about $360 U.S.). In fact, Web pre-orders were so intense that the server was crashed for more than two hours Thursday night. According to one source, the site was receiving 30 times more online orders than Sony had expected.

does anyone know why Intel didn't buy RMBS when it decided to pick it up and make it the newest gorilla on the block?
