Hi t36:
I think the answer is competitor, but I don't know to what extent or how directly. I believe that within the past couple of weeks there was a post on here discussing GLW/JDSU and to what extent they were competitors. I remember reading something and I didn't get concerned about the issue after reading it. Maybe someone on here that knows a more detailed answer can reply to you.
Rick

re:GLW vs JDSU

t36, Go back and read post 6430. I tried to generate some discussion here concerning this subject a few posts ago, but few takers. Since then I've stumbled across the fact that GLW presently has about 10 percent of component market as opposed to JDSU with about 60-70 percent. The threat here, of course, is that GLW is rapidly shedding its extraneous sideline businesses and concentrating more and more on fiber, including components. It appears some folks on this board are playing both (along with SDLI) with success, and if you're a GGamer, you know this is the place to be.
