Peter, this suggestion has merit..wonder what the chances of someone having enough sense to do it are?
" In their article, the authors suggest the telomerase treatment
could be tested in patients awaiting a liver transplant, since
the liver was due for removal anyway."

=======================

Besides cirrhosis, several other diseases are thought, though
not yet proved, to be caused by telomere shortening and the
depletion of critical cell types. This include AIDS, ulcerative
colitis
and various skin and immune-system disorders.
=========an aside....a fellow in Ames, Iowa has found that feeding tape worm eggs to people with ulcerative colitis, and allowing the tape worms to reach maturity...can be an effective cure....ugh.
Best, Savant
