Investsmart launches Net trading Our Bureau MUMBAI, Feb. 21 INVESTSMART India Ltd, a part of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS), will be setting up 50 Internet kiosks across the country in a bid to bring access to the small investors through the Internet. ``We have already set up kiosks in eight cities and are aiming to set up another 22 Internet outlets in the next 12 months,' said Mr. Hemang Raja, Managing Director, Investsmart India Ltd. Investsmart India Ltd today launched Internet securities trading on its Web site www.investsmartindia.com. Internet trading is one step forward in taking the capital market to the doorstep of the investor, Dr. R.H. Patil, Managing Director, National Stock Exchange, said after inaugurating the first trade on the Web site. Internet trading is not competition to the stock exchanges, but is complementary, said Dr. Patil. Investsmart is looking at three types of clients for its Internet trading segment. Its existing clients, some of whom may move into Internet trading, new clients who have to register once before commencing Internet trading and day traders who can trade through the Internet kiosks. For the first two categories of investors, Investsmart is looking at a networth in the range of Rs. 30 lakhs (+$60,000) to Rs. 70 crores ($15 million).
