Gary, you said the same about MSFT with regard to the Palm. According to the pundits, that you usually refer to, PalmOS is the clear leader and has snatched market share from Windows CE (based on the last IDC report).

As a matter of fact INTC could practically take on any company one on one, but it does not have that luxury. AMD, MOT and many other companies are giving it a good run for its' money, they better not strategically overstretch themselves, especially in areas where the margins don't justify the capital investments.

According to a recent article MSFT is paying a licensing fee to 3Com on its' latest Windows 2000. I am certain you are aware that MSFT is also in alliance in Home Networking with 3Com.

It has come to my attention that once the Palm is spun off from 3Com, Cisco will begin an alliance with Palm, Inc.. The spin off will also give 3Com more latitude to work with MSFT in its' Networking division.
