The other company is Telenetworks. I am weary of them though. They lied about nobody else having the technology (it seems that everyone including the big boys are working on it), and when we asked them about Media Fusion we got a half assed response about how MF wasn't even close to being ready to compete and "not to worry about them", although with their patents they seem far beyond Telenetworks.

This weekend I had the pleasure of having dinner with an uncle who has been with Pac Bell over 20 years. He says it is common knowledge that the roll out of this technology is just a race, and the first one out will be the winner. He says Pac Bell, ATT, and Nortel among others are all working on it. That makes me wonder how MF or Telenetworks have a prayer. He also said one thing that I didn't follow up on, but wish I had. When I told him that MF was out of Texas, he said "oh that could be who we are working with if they are down there." Did someone mention that MF had said something about partnering with a big telco or was that my imagination? He also said that the only thing holding back roll out is being able to send a reliable signal. As David Wigglesworth was quoted on the thread earlier: For the uninitiated, getting data through power lines is difficult. Noise, substations, power line control devices, impedance changes all cause significant problems for data communications.

Hope this helps the thread : )
