add, et al: I don't know if any one else saw
he CEO of Loral ( Harold Schwartz, I think)
on CNBC this morning. He apparently came on
to do an interview in defense of Globalstar
which has been sliding recently. The
negative argument is that the availability
of phones has not the met companies original
projections and the company has backed away
from the number of phones they see in use by
year end. His defense is that in start up
companies that feature new technologies it
is not unusual to have "bumps in the road"
and he felt the availability issue is behind
them. He went on to say that instead of the
original 600,000 phones in use, the company
projected by year end, the worst case
scenario would be 500,000 sets. In addition
he was not entirely convinced that the
company would not be able to still meet the
600,000 number. duckster
