<<MADRID, Spain, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Jazztel Internet Factory (JIF, www.jifactory.com) has reached an agreement with the Norwegian company Fast Search & Transfer ASA (TM) (FAST) (TM) (www.fast.no) to implement its FAST Search (TM) (http://www.alltheweb.com) technology in Ya.com's Web Search Engine. This alliance has enabled JIF to become the first Spanish company to offer FAST technology. FAST Search is the world's biggest fastest search engine, with more than 300 million web pages searched in under one half second and support for 25 languages.>>

Fez: Great find....DELL has a GREAT partner with FAST and they are doing some exciting deals....Jazztel was one of the highest profile Spanish IPOs in 1999 -- it has a lot of mindshare and smart people working for it. I am very happy that they chose to go with FAST and DELL equipment <G>.

Best Regards,

Scott

Fez,
Hi!!

RE: FAST Search is powered by large arrays of Dell PowerEdge servers and PowerVault storage subsystems and uses patented algorithms developed after many years of research by the Norwegian Institute of Science and Technology. The unique FAST Search technology generates a search system that is capable of minimizing redundant and obsolete references -- a growing problem on the Net -- and provides Internet users with high quality results that are extremely relevant to user requests.

Patrick, Drew, Scott and I have been very excited about the possibilities here for some time now....I would value someone's opinion on what this technology could really bring DELL in the future...FAST has the future capabilities of updating the internet daily....Current engines produce perhaps 15% of the available data...100% vs. 15% is certainly why this is gaining such acclaim...It is public information that DELL has been working with FAST for a long time now....IMO quite a value to the customer buying a DELL product with this in it...

Best, Kemble
