This statement flies in the face of the facts. Aren't I polite? Or, as Churchill said, you are guilty of a 'terminological inexactitude'!

I don't have a Barrick Information Circular in front of me -but a couple of years back Bob Smith when President of Barrick had options on 1 million shares. Oliphant and the have substantial options. It is a large part of their compensation package. They also own shares. In other words they too are (substantial) shareholders and are interested in the price of the stock rising. 'Interested' is too mild a word. The proposed changes to Canadian tax rules re: options make this form of compensation even more desirable.
