The NASDAQ though has not dropped much and is sucking up most investment funds -- one of the reasons of the DOW underperformance. Selected real estate markets in the US remind me of Japan '89, and are clearly fed by outlandish gains in tech stocks. There was no measurable inflation in the late eighties Japan either. I think the Fed knows what happens when a gigantic bubble like the one we have in high techs now grows unchecked, and is trying to prevent it.
