JOHN N, Cirrus in PS2 is just speculation. I believe Cirrus will be in other products of SONY.

Cirrus will not be able to make any announcements until the actual launch of the Playstation on March 6th (I think that is the right date). I am under the understanding that Sony does not allow, (through contract) suppliers to release this type of information until the actual launch of the product. This was true for the NeoMagic press release in January regarding their chip in the new Vaio notebooks.

I do not know for a fact whether or not CRUS has a chip on board but I tend to believe what we have all heard. It would be nice to know this for a fact but IMO the price of the stock (at least some of it) is reflecting this belief.

Regarding the LSI statement that you made, I have also heard these rumors as well but have not seen any official press release.

I would hate to imagine what would happen after all of this, if Cirrus does NOT have a chip in PS2!
