Yup, Intel is volume leader.

And very much so in the 500Mhz range.

I bet they will outship AMD 10:1 in this space.

And likely 20:1 next quarter.

And yes all wafer starts are 0.18 micron now.

Last of the 0.25's will ship thu by april-may.

Intel on the other hand is shipping them thru Q4 2000.

PS: Gateway no longer offer 500 or 550M or 600Mhz Athlons anymore.

SLOWEST SYSTEM is a 650MHZ now.

And likely 700Mhz will be low end by April.

Just about when mickey d introduces his dual PIII 600's with RDRAM for $3500 per computer.
