<< Novell will NOT lose customers to Active Directory to the degree that NDS will not be a leader. >>

I agree, and I didn't say they would. My point is that up 'til now the pie basically belonged to NOVL. Now MSFT is in the game, to a degree, and that will eat some of the lower-hanging fruit. This at a time when NOVL is struggling to grow revenues.

<< Active Directory will not bite into NDS numbers or marketshare, IMHO it can't compete in that fashion. >>

I remember similar statements being made in the 1990's:

Windows NT will not bite into NetWare numbers or marketshare, IMHO it can't compete in that fashion.

Well, it did then and it might well now. Flag-waving aside, a prudent NOVL investor has to consider these possibilities.

<< Novell's continuing growth will hinge on their ability to market i-Chain and develop solutions based on the combination of e-Directory, i-Chain, DigitalMe, WebSphere and NetWare 5.1. >>

NetWare itself aside, how do you see these various initiatives driving revenues?

Thanks,
Mark
