Re Microsoft's X-Box, Gigapixel & Zoran: while Zoran is a great company (one of my better buys last year) and it has a great future in digital cameras and DVD, are you sure it owns Gigapixel? It appears the President of Gigapixel is on the Zoran board. However, I called Gigapizel and asked if it was owned by Zoran and was told no. That of course, doesn't mean (a) I got the right information or (b) there isn't some less obvious relationship between the two companies. Can anyone offer some better info?

I, too, did not think it was owned by Zoran. My understanding is that they are a private company ready to come public under an IPO. However I can not remember where I read that.

I don't know who owns what, but both Zoran and Gigapixel look interesting.

Would please you let me know when Gigapixel goes public.

Richard

Steve, Richard Ted,

I apologize, I misread this section on Gigapixel website:

George T. Haber, President & CEO. Mr. Haber founded CompCore in 1993, and was president and CEO until Zoran acquired the company in 1996. Until 1997, Mr. Haber served as an executive vice president and board member for Zoran, he continues to be a member of Zoran's board of directors.

CompCore, company of which Mr. Haber was CEO in the past was acquired by Zoran, not his present company - Gigapixel. Haber worked for Zoran, and then went on his own, but remained on the board.

However, these 2 companies may actually be complementary, if they merged. But that seems unlikely, since Mr. Haber is after big bucks, if they win the X-Box contract.

Joe
