George Cole, what do you make of the ridiculously low valuation of many companies in the DOW ? Do you think they are just going to disappear ?
Your complaint is about the tech stocks. Those companies are growing very fast. People can afford to take risks with them (no margin though). I believe that he should just raise margin requirements to even 100% if that's what he wants to do.
Raising interest rates to destroy the stock market has never been done before. The effects are unpredictable since there is no precedent. This Fed is too arrogant...

In a way I disagree while agreeing with your general
problem with Greenspan.

He should have raised MARGIN RATES long ago to cure
the stock speculative fever. That way he would not
kill the rest of the economy while trying to fiddle
with stocks.

But he must be playing for the Wall Street Band. <gggg>
