Well, I went and did a Web Search for "Waldo." It turns out Waldo is a Search Engine! Amazing. But the total hits for "Waldo" was only 77. Most of them Ralph. You get more than that for archaeopteryx.

ALL people are IMPORTANT.

OKAY?

OKAY?

But suffice it to say, there is NO important person in the whole wide freaking world of any real significance with the name Waldo ~ except Ralph Waldo Emerson.

There is a tuba fanatic and a Revolutionary War surgeon and a woman who plays ancient Andean instruments.

LIKE I SAID.

Wait ~ Waldo Leopold.

Or wait ~ As we say in the wondering business, "Where's Waldo?"

there aren't any other Waldos around.

There's some 'Waldo Mountains' in Oregon.

Feeling as though I am having an early senior moment and beating head against a wall: Does anyone remember the short story, a sci fi prize winner, in which a person's artificial arm was called a "Waldo"?
