OT. I tried to make a sell this morning - limit order and all I got was errors. After 5 tries, I called and they had a 5 minute wait (after two busy signals). I finally got a fill and it only cost me $150.00 on my trade. Now this afternoon at 3:50, I tried to place a trade to buy WAVX at market. Every time I sent the buy order I got a "invalid quote error". After about 10 tries, I called and there was a 4 minute wait and it was 3:58, so no way to get my order filled. I printed all my error messages this afternoon and one this morning as I was going to fax it to them. I called them after hours and they told me in effect - "to bad, so sad", no we will not fill your order, even if you fax us your error reports. Their response was, "We had trouble today and we are not always up, but there are other options". I told them there was no way to get the order filled when their lines were busy and the site was throwing out errors. I asked for the e-mail address of the president and they told me that I could not have it. But I could write their compliance department. I told them I thought a message on Silicon Investors might be appropriate here and believe it or not Judy Ricketts of Ameritrade Customer Service told me that they would not authorize me posting this on a message board. Can you imagine? They have to give me authorization???? Fortunately in my trading account I only have one long termer so I'l sell the other stuff and ask them to send me an overnight check..... I'm gone. Unfortunately I have two IRAs with them and that makes it more difficult to move those accounts. Any suggestions? Can we ask for a check for the balance in our IRAs and open another account? I have stocks in those accounts that I do no want to sell, but maybe it would be a better alternative to just cash everything out. I'll consolidate both my IRAs before I do so. I'm wondering about tax consequences on my IRA. Any help would be appreciated. No wonder their stock has tanked. Might have to short AMTD here even at these low prices.
