I don't know what you've got where you are, but here the combination desk-chairs have plastic bucket seats, a metal arm coming up on the right side and holding a small wooden desktop. If anyone sat on the desktop, the chair would tip forward and fall. It's simply impossible for anyone to put their weight on it.

In 50 years of college studenting and teaching I have broken dozens of desk-chairs by sitting on them, because sure as hell I could't sit in them.
I have a 400 pound man in my class. He stands up against the wall. The little Japanese girls fit comfortably in the seats, but they are not even sized for "normal Americans." It's racism, sizism, abusive against the law.
