Just in passing, the Register comes back with a more subdued Transmeta reference. I share their skepticism, Transmeta is cool and everything, but they don't exactly have a clear field competition wise. Not that that matters for a hypothetical IPO, in current markets, if they got enough hype. Climbing losses are as good as climbing profits, if you're in the right place on the internet wave.

Meanwhile the predicted waves of Taiwanese companies supporting Transmeta's Crusoe and Mobile Linux for information appliances seems strangely silent. But Ericsson's opposition, Nokia, which has been demoing Linux appliances for a while now, is being tipped at the show to join the Crusoe camp RSN. ©
