The RB poster did a great job. I already knew that Geoff Hewitt knows what he's talking about and gives a thorough, energetic interview. Wait till the media get hold of him...

The reference to fire detection rang a bell with me, regarding one of the things that most excited me about FOCS 5-6 years ago when they expanded their relationship with Texas Instruments. One of the goals of the "Sensor-on-a-Chip" technology at that time, as I recall, was to develop a home monitoring product that would detect "precursors to fire" -- in other words, a "pre-smoke" alarm that would go off before there is any smoke! You know how you can smell "something's burning" before there's any smoke, especially as an electrical fire is starting? How huge would it be if FOCS and TI were to develop a monitoring product like that, that could warn of a potential fire before it started, remotely over the Internet?!
