Almost no one takes those "PR" ratings seriously. Before, the PR rating meant the performance of a Pentium II clocked at the same frequency as the PR number. Now, they've lowered their standards to Celeron.

Also, check out the obvious play on the Pentium III logo with the name "Cyrix III." AMD tried the same tactic by slightly renaming their K6-3 as "K6-III," but failed.

Although Intel is taking the Via threat very seriously (Pat Gelsinger thinks Via is a bigger threat than AMD), I think Via has a long way to go before they can become a serious player.
