OA grew sequentially by 5% in the q. This is down from the immediate prior q's. As I said before, this decline in the rate of growth is a negative, but could be accounted for by seasonality in Bell South/Marconi. Noam stated in the Q & A that the revenues from the discontinued business amounted to 65mm last year and a 10mm rate in the current q.(not sure if he meant q4 99 or q100) Disappointment in the top line going forward will be more than made up in improving margins and organic growth IMO.
This is a difficult organization to get your arms around. Some have referred to them as "stealth operators". We will definitely learn more about the business piece by piece from the Red Herrings when the IPO's begin to roll out.
Noam did also comment that the seasonality factor of revenues would improve with the discontinuance along with collection of receivables as much of that business had been written in Europe where they have slower pay cycles.

Pat, I suspect MRVC may take a slight hit this morning but I would it think (at least i hope)it will be very shortlived. Their new acquisition will make up for any shortcomings in the earnings report. I am expecting the stock to move up considerably in the coming couple of months. Investors will be buying based upon potential---and potential is what is driving the optical sector.

BTW--I read you got into GSLI. I was thinking about it for a while but still have not made the move. I got into some others like COHR, ADCT, and APAT. Might buy some GSLI soon.
