Charles, my point was that, while Michaelangelo didn't invent paint, he and other artists did take that common material called paint (marble, plaster) and create masterpieces. Those masterpieces are protected by copyright laws, and selling fake Rembrandts is illegal. While you can't copyright the "look and feel" of a painting, the owners of artistic masterpieces DO copyright those specific masterpieces.

MSFT has copyrighted the product Windows 95, etc. Apple copyrights OS/8, etc. Do you suppose that Oracle copyrights their software products?

Somehow I think both Oracle and Netscape jealously protect their copyrighted products. As does Microsoft.

Hope we're clear on this subject.
