Novell did shoot itself in the foot. It had the first NOS, for all intents, but did not ehance the architecture of that product. Writing apps for a Novell server was a dangerous, difficult thing to do.

It was a file and print server, not an app server.

I watched Novell's market disappear in just a few months when NT 3.1 came out. They fought the holy war in the market place rather than fixing their problems. It was sad.
