LoF, don't believe everything Guru Gilder tells you. TERN's a train wreck waiting to happen, IMO.

lof....brcm and tern...again..

comments i make refer to the real world companies, not the stock perception....

agree with the link, but note the reference to a chip....brcm is a semi manufacturer, and the uniqueness about them is that they don't own any manufacturing facilities, they can ramp up or down through contract fabricators. put them in the same perspective as you had with dell....."low cost manufacturer, no aged inventory....no capital equipment expenditure......able to turn on a dime with new technology"

tern may even use brcm components (i don't know this), but most set top box makers as sfa, mot(general instrument)use brcm....

brcm has a very wide application base beyond video for their product line....

not being critical of tern, but it reminds me of idc....both companies fairly secretive about their intellectual property. looking at tern in a vacuum in a technical sense, it is a bit parabolic.........spike up without any significant corporate announcement...

i'm a bit more conservative, especially with long term positions, i need to see reality of profits....if not i would buy amzn which at least has tremendous cash flow to shroud the loss......
