Re: hubs, routers, switches

Can one vendor's hub, router, or switch be replaced by another vendor's unit without problems? Can brands be mixed in the same installation? Or are different vendor's units incompatible? Are there additional costs involved?

rewas that an easy enough explanation (of hubs and routers) for a carpetologist to understand?
Must of been, even a public school teacher understood it.
Thank you!

Justin,

Thanks for the explanation of routers. This 10-cent carpetologist understands it clearly now, at least as far as a dime will take you. :)
