Haim, the market is undervalued - not the indices On the one hand, chartists keep on saying that A/D line is sinking, most stocks are down since July 1998 while on the other hand, bears keep on saying that market is overvalued. The market is undervalued while the indices may not be. Far fewer people own internet/biotech/tech stocks than old economy stocks. The US senators are not clowns even though it is fashionable to say that I guess. These guys have to play a balancing act all the time and try to do the best they can. You don't have the burden of representing a large number of constituents while thinking about the future of the most prosperous nation on earth. It is easy to sling mud at these guys, but have some respect at the size of the problem they face.
