Gore first made his comments on China in an interview with USA Today in which he said he would seek additional labor and environmental concessions from China if he were elected president.

Under pressure from big business and the White House, Gore later issued a statement backing the Clinton administration's trade agreement with China and said he believed it would benefit U.S. workers.

So much is being thrown about re china and labor and i think to myself how many companies would see their bottom line change re labor rate. So instead of going after the poor go after the corporations that take advantage of the situation.
To people who are financially poor anything is better than nothing one egg is better than none.
What a mess it would make if we decreed outside of the US if you operate you must pay wages comparable to those inside the US.

We have reduced our social structure here and created a large employment base. Yet i wonder if inside that social structure was security blanket of a reasonable salary. I know to much socialism creates both lax and lack of initiative but on the other hand does it offer to a degree a choice?

We are at present are concerned with inflation and i find this leads me to be concerned with the potential of a reduced living standard for many.
