This combined solution extends Legato's leadership in live, serverless, LAN-free backup for direct SCSI or fibre-attached storage environments and Storage Area Networks (SANs). NetWorker 5.6 has an added Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) component to interface with Legato's unparalleled Celestra technology, plus the full performance, functionality and support of Legato's market-leading NetWorker product. When the technologies are combined, data protection becomes transparent to end-users as the enterprise environment and server performance are free from the impact of backup and restore operations. Organizations now can achieve 24x7 high-performance application availability and fail-safe protection of their storage assets without affecting users or the performance of the network.
