I would never question the contribution that Judeo-Christian ethics have made to our society along with hundreds of other cultures and beliefs. I believe that the end goal is to be happy and if it floats your boat to believe an an allmighty being who watches over us, then that's just swell. However, there is a reason why we have made the separation between church and state was made explicit. Evangelicalism as stated in your reply runs in deep contrast to some very basic themes this country was founded upon. In fact, those who settled here were forced out of there own country exactly because of that mentality. If one wants to believe in God before country, that's your perogative, but I would then question one's loyalty to the beliefs that this country was founded upon and their ability to lead in accordance with those principals. -enam
