I'll admit I'm still a little confused by most of the high tech plays right now but I'm trying to learn. My area of expertise has always been biotech. One company that has recently caught my eye is a gold company gone internet incubator- VENGF. Actually, VENGF has now become Itemus and will be changing it's ticker soon. They just got out of gold investing and hired a bunch of high tech experts to form Itemus which will, so they claim, become one of Canada's premier internet incubators. Canada is way behind the curve when it comes to e-commerce and the internet, so they definitely need companies like Itemus. The new managers have impressive credentials and they have venture capital backing from some respected firms in Silicon Valley. I'm still trying to decide if they are worth taking a position in or not. They are definitely speculative but worth a look. Check out the VENGF and Itemus threads on SI for more info. and tell me what you think.

Whats going on ?

The last value investor is getting on the momentum train ? Surrender to the new paradigm ? <g>

In any case, it looks like value stocks are due for some rebound rally, at least a short one. I'm going to take this risk and buy some at the money march/april calls on AOL, MSFT, BDK, SBC and GT.
(No financials).

Market looks very oversold here. Inflation is still low, and the amount of buy back announcements is simply overwhelming. Plus I think that Greenspan has already scared everybody he could possibly scare at this point.

Lets see how this mini campaign works out.
