---I don't know the exact details but I expect that Gateway will have a few units there they will use to take orders. The computers will ship. Maybe a few off the shelf...dunno
OM will likely get a commission. Apparently Gateway stores have been a success but using OM will reduce overhead and capital outlay.
At Staples and OD you can configure and order HPs and Compaqs in the store just as you can online. I guess Gateway sees value in the touchy feely thing before you buy...unlike Dell..
Dell hasn't been in retail stores since the 486. I don't know what there arrangement was...was it off the shelf sales?
