Hi Cube, If you check the news, you'll find that there's not much to report. However, since I've been invested in this stock and managing the risk of being involved in this sector for 15 years, I consider it valid "news" to report that I've been taking profits. This isn't exactly "hyping" the stock to tell people that I've been taking profits.

Most momentum players are doing just the opposite of what I'm doing. They are looking at the biotech sector as something new, novel and "hot" as a place to clip coupons. That's fine, but not my style.

Back in 1997 and 1998 when I was buying shares of GENE as the price continued to falter, I reported those buys here as well. I think it only makes sense to complete the story when those shares flow back out of my inventory.

If the price continues upwards, I'll sell more. If it falls far enough, the cash and profits I've raised will be put back into the stock. This is my business plan. Sorry if it seemed to come across as hype. It's taken me 15 years of my investing life to see GENE rise to an 1100+% profit. I've been a member of SI since 1997 and have usually reported all of my trades in each of the stocks I own on each of the boards. I've not had complaints before.

Best regards, Tom

A quote from Thomas Phelps, 100 to 1 In The Stock Market, 1972:

"The reason people don't make more money with their investments is they don't set their goals high enough."

OPINION:
GENE has fit my model for long term potential since 1986. Some of that potential has been realized. It used to be a small portion of my overall portfolio, but in recent months it's grown to be the single most valuable holding in the account. Should their collaborations already on the books continue to do well, it will help justify the recent price. However, it's the future collaborations that will continue to build a strong foundation for the price/share.

Good science, good management.

Best regards, Tom
