Yes - it was started around 1997 or early 1998 - and is essentially a completed building with only the basics internally installed.

Intel made a statement about hoping to produce Silicon this year from that new Fab. That will be a major endeavor.


Paul, I am surprised that the fab wasn't spun off with CNXT...probably should have been.

Smart move of Intel to buy the empty shell...especially with processes and equipment changing every 12 mos or less. Intel saves $ not haveing to tear out stuff and/or trying to work with existing equipment.

Probably got it for a good price. I, too, will be surprised
if there is production this year.
