CO causes a 200 fold increase in brain cell death through oxidation.....cell death continues after the exposure stops....cigarettes only enhance the damage....I smoke cigars....less inhalation of the gases. A furnace running after you go to sleep can back draft a chimney in a fire place that was lit hours prior...charcoal is the most toxic of CO creators.....anything..even an electric dryer can cause a vacuum that pulls co in from another appliance....100's of k each year....never know it hit them......30 to 40% have delayed neurological damage and don't ever realize it....they just wonder why their lives have suddenly and irreversibly fallen apart.
