PA, I'm glad you mentioned it, I thought I was alone with my own experiences.
I don't believe WebStreet is a true on-line broker any longer. I've been with them for 8 months and they seem to be heading towards the telephone trading, on-line is getting less and less reliable. Also, their customer service (on line) is getting worse.
I could leave with placing orders on the telephone, but I do want my questions to be answered in writing, to avoid confusion, if for no other reason (e.g. potential disputes).
But when you think about it, why are you to be happy with trading by telephone? Most people have one only telephone line at home, so they would have to disconnect from internet to place an order. In the meantime they can't monitor the market, even the very stock they are trying to buy or sell.
I am from Pacic Rim, according to WEBS's last PR they target clients from my region. They sure targeted me, when I first approached them, I got their immediate attention, so I opened the account. Things changed in the meantime, leaving me with some unpleasant experiences to remember and draw lessons from.
But then again, if things can change to the worse, why wouldn't they change to the better too.
