Interesting bits from Bloomberg "'PairGain has been a troubled company, but the price ADC is giving is fair,' W.R. Hambrecht & Co. analyst Tim Savageaux said.

ADC expects revenue to rise by 25 percent to 30 percent in fiscal 2000 and per-share earnings to climb at a faster rate. It plans to complete the purchase by July 31. The acquisition won't affect ADC's fiscal 2000 earnings, and will add about 5 cents a share in the next fiscal year, spokesman Rob Clark said.

ADC said it's too soon to say how the agreement will affect PairGain's 700 employees. ADC has 14,400 workers worldwide.

Talks between ADC and PairGain began several weeks ago and continued until early this morning, Cadogan said.

No wonder price has held steady in light of no news since CC. Still troubled in my mind.
They should have let Hoke break the story !!!!

<<Pairgain must be telling us they can't grow it's business by +30%/year. Avidia alone will provide ~25% revenue growth in 2000. Something isn't adding up here.>>

I agree bill. we were at 17+ last week until the naz broke down friday. I think we would have seen 20 in the near future on potential alone, pair gave every indication of having (finally) turned the corner and at 17 were the most undervalued in the sector....what the hell happened? I guess this is what happens when shrewd businessmen go up against complete idiots. the goofs sell the company at market value!

having acquired a good product line and a ton of cash, adct may have the management to fully develop/exploit the pair potential and generate the financial rewards we all so richly deserve. I have no problem giving them the year I was going to give pair.

good luck to everyone and when the time comes I hope all the friends I have made here move over to the adct board....there is always a need for a karma kop Jay!!

you may get that bigger boat out of pair yet John...

Just a simple response to bill, jay, max, dwc, etal.

Maybe the deal goes by the wayside of WSTL/TLTN.

Best bet for PAIR if they had no sale was to sell. I do believe I said 20 bucks.
Fear not yonder chimeron, cometh to WSTL, for 50s for sure.

Whatever, reinvest. get a new thread. Dang thing to lose another place to haggle. I liked you all, even if you did not like me.
