There Are No More Competitors..... Perhaps is a good time to think about this. I've been extremely active in my start-up lately. Also, my "I-Link challenge" is growing huge fruit. I've been a major buyer since the mid $2's. The stock is now trading in the high $8's and $9 range. We think this is only just the beginning of an incredible run toward $100 and beyond. There are many similarities between I-Link and Novell. Size may not be one of them, but the core mindsets are basically very similar. But I-Link IS changing. They are finally "opening up." And we are very excited about the potential to blend/mix/combine I-Link and Novell's technology as the explosive unbundling power of IP continues to rip through the telecom world. I think Novell is at the stage where it must finally be forced to realize it CANNOT manage from a power/control position which leverages fear anymore. I and many others reading this thread have a very focused, clear feeling and understanding about this problem. We think there is one person in management who is primarily responsible for this core problem and we hope Eric and the board understands the gravity of this message. I think it's time for Novel to finally "let go" of this closed, power/control/fear crap so the company can finally really fire up, explosively grow and thrive. These core management issues relating to control have been holding Novell back for too long. As I said over a year ago, Novell's future is "out there" among communities of people OUTSIDE of Novell which believe in this vision for an interconnected world. Again, I hope Eric and Novell's board is reading this. Perhaps this post I shared over on the I-Link Yahoo thread may help. Peace. GO!! ======================== Posted on Yahoo.... There Are No More Competitors..... by: SmartWire (M/Chicago, IL) 2/24/00 6:36 am Msg: 20383 of 20383 >>The more I read about this industry the more I see how the big boys (Cisco, 3 Com, Nortel (Bay Networks)) can come in and dominate an area's technology very quickly. Think about the billions of muscle and research they have at their disposal. Not to mention marketshare. No way will they let I-Link or any small upstart control important technology. The question is - if and when one of them comes to buy-out, merge or co-op I-Link. The 'if' part of the equation is how proprietary or unique I-Link's technology truely is. It seems that many other companies have their eyes set on the same brass ring. If the big boys do their DD and partner up with who fits their business model/ technology the best; I-Link may find themselves alone at the alter - facing a lonely fight to get recognized in a crowded market. If Glotech, Smartwire, et.al. can enlighten us as to I-Link's competition, it would be greatly appreciated.>> climbera5: I've come to expect and appreciate that many of the ideas I share with others will completely miss the mark, but if you less spend time trying to think and more time just "letting go" you will begin to understand the basic message. In case you didn't realize it, but "There Are No More Competitors" in the world. That's the incredible reality behind this IP Revolution. If you try to compete.....YOU LOSE, period. Try to blow the other guy away and you'll soon realize you are blowing yourself away. Try to take, steal, lie and cheat and the entire world will know in a heartbeat - without even the need to impeachment hearings -you're a lying, stealing cheat. The laws and principals which have always governed the Universe are finally coming onto center stage. This "new reality" is going to be extremely upsetting to many throughout the world. Cockroaches don't appreciate light, but occasionally the light does go on. The Internet and IP is simply an explosion of light which allows for information, data, knowledge and truth to hit all corners of the world a the speed of light. Whether you are Cisco, Microsoft, Intel or whomever, try to fight this and you will end up just like Jyamasaki, defaulting off the platform, relegated to toiling, recoiling and spinning in the darkness. Cisco, Nortel, Lucent, Intel, Microsoft and others are trying their darndest to buy and fight and control their way through this transition. It's not a pretty site. New money is being spent, but for as fast as they try to gobble and control new technologies, there are so many new, explosively innovative substitutes that suddenly pop up. It's simply the nature of this new world we are living in. Going forward, if you aren't helping and serving others you will default off the platform of growth. For even the way we measure traditional growth is being radically challenged: one look at DOT.COM valuations confirms this. All future growth will be about one thing: earning the Time and Trust of others. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that no matter how HUGE Cisco or Microsoft is, they are more like big bundles of power/control energy which will eventually be radically unbundled as these new energies firmly take hold. I see a lot of radical, total transformation ahead of us. For a good view of the world I recommend turning yourself upside down. While upside down I suggest you try chewing bubble gum while patting yourself on the stomach. While patting yourself on the stomach I recommend deep breathing exercises which will allow you to experience this need to "Let Go" and "forgive" and "be" and "love" etc. Just thinking of this image and these thoughts will drive most people crazy. And that's exactly what's transforming the world. It's changing. Live with it. Get into channels of service. Dive into pools trust. Take risks. And humbly serve. Peace. GO!!
