Nope, I understand such skepticism, I would be lying if I said I thought that it wasn't possible that AMD could screw this up. Fortunately I think there are several good signs, such as the ISCC demo, their public statements about good yields and binsplits from Dresden (and I think they are being extra cautious about public statements after the shareholder lawsuit snafus), and even their recent price cuts. In any event I have my fingers crossed :)

As for Intel, I don't doubt that coppermines are coming. That is what I would expect. I am flabbergasted that Intel gave AMD such a timely opportunity. Unless they just want to hand AMD market share on a silver platter then those Coppermines better be coming and coming soon. Even if Intel has to ramp down other production and sell them at a loss (not saying they will, just even if) they had better get those coppermines out the door.
