What is your opinion of Sun's start up dot com initiatives

My personal experience of it so far, which isn't a lot, has been quite positive. We got a lovely new E250 dual processor system in recently through the developer program at a very attractive price and it can absolutely chock-a-block with software that one might want to use in developing software for dot.com applications. There seems to be lots of support and information available and I anticipate using several of the iPlanet tools in addition to Forte.

how is the merger of Forte into Sun going

Given all that needs to be handled, I think it is going very well, but then that is what I would have expected from the people involved. Sure, there are pieces of forthcoming technology I would like to have *now* instead of later, but what I see is a solid plan accompanied by solid accomplishment. It is still early days for judging the impact of Sun's name on acceptance, but what I have heard sounds very positive ... I know the goals over the next two years are numbers big enough to actually make a noticable difference in the SUNW top line and that is saying quite a bit.
