I have some parental criticism for you, Rambi. I hope you don't mind.

Since the topic of your post was incompetence, Dear, I would just like to suggest how incredibly STUPID it is to put your little VISA and Mastercard and Amex numbers onto your payment checks.

Yes!

It's true; Dear!

You just don't know WHERE those checks GO and WHO has been looking at THEM! Do you think they keep them in a hermetically sealed germ free on-vellopes until they come back to your house? And that every time they've been processed by sixty different banks the people have been wearing blindfolds?

And that chaste checks never go home with anyone else?

Of course they don't.

And bank employees are paid more than they can be tempted with.

Minimum wage, I think.

You're lucky that he's a nice man. Lots of less nice people could have all kinds of fun with those numbers. What do you suppose the Internet is for??

Beating up someone at the bank would be fun, but probably wouldn't accomplish much. I find it hard to get much moved by displays of stellar incompetence; life in the 3rd world provides them with such regularity that I hardly notice them any more.

I cant believe that you still get your original checks back. I havent seen a check back in about 10 years (other than bounced checks that is)
