Adam Re.<<<Actually I didn't pay an extra $70, as my investment was made five years ago next month at a split-adjusted price of $11 per share. A 900% gain in five years - now that's something to hyperventilate about. ;-)

Re: Or was it that huge dividend payout of $.03 Intel just voted on.

Yes, with all of the splits Intel's had, the dividend checks do start to add up. What are you gonna buy with your AMD dividend?

I supposed the really smart and gifted investors always keep their investments for 5 - 10-20 yrs. Fine, that's your choice, however; I am not sure about Intel's shares but I know AMD's can be bought and sold anytime. Hey, if you feel comfortable keeping your Intel based on past PE ratios and growth rates thats fine by me. I prefer to live in the present. Right now AMD has lower PE ratios and higher estimated growth rates for 2000. If things change I will sell and buy something else. Its not like I'm married to AMD, but if you are married to your Intel stock, I think I would see a divorce attorney shortly,or haven't you heard, according to Elmer the world will shortly be swamped with low mhz coppermines and high end Willys which won't have any availabe cheap memory.
