Ruffian - I had the same reaction after reading the article. It seems that MOT no longer views QCOM as a competitor given the sale of the handset division. MOT's decision to purchase chipsets from QCOM is further confirmation. MOT would gain substantially if China adopts CDMA, since NOK doesn't sell CDMA infra (and NOK's CDMA handsets are inferior) and ERICY and LU don't sell CDMA handsets. MOT offers one-stop shop.
