I've decided it's protective puts for me in the future, rather than cc,s, although I've lucked out in this situation. So if I
start mentioning writing calls on my QCOM at some point in the future, somebody kick me, please.

I tried to the other day, but you didn't listen and did it anyway! (maybe I didn't kick hard enough...)

JB

p.s. I just checked back (post 3450) and realized that I kicked Jill, not you (I get the two of you confused sometimes!)

RE: CHINA
Typical BS from the Chinese. This is negotiating ploy. The US needs to be careful not to be outmaneuvered by them. Taiwan will continue to be a major issue. This is a reason to have alot of buying power available.

If the fireworks start abruptly over Taiwan expect acutely a 500-1,000 point drop in the Dow. If the United States intervenes which I believe it must, then expect 1,000+ drop in one day. I would expect this to be over in a very brief time if this were ever to come to pass. I strongly feel that we should not back down to China. The Chinese are irrational enough that I would take an educated guess and say that I expect the chances of armed conflict in the next 24 months to be more then 50%.

I am sitting on a total of 60 contracts JDSU Dept 220's (puts) sold at 71-72 now down in price by about 50%. This was my most aggressive short term (less then 1 year) option play. I plan to hold these to expiration. I sold 20 of the GLW 190's yesterday for this month. The move in JDSU today is even more of a reason for GLW to move up.
