John- GREAT article!. I talked to you briefly and accidently yesterday on the PnF thread. Just found this thread and it' great. I was into "conventional" TA before PnF so talk of Fib retracements and the like are right up my alley. Gann analysis however is something I am not as proficient with, nor are Elliot waves, although I have the general idea. This market has long scared me for many of the reasons in this article and now with monthly MACD and a few others giving sell signals it will be interesting to see what happens. The split market phenomenon is perfectly illustrated by this example. I sold 1/2 my 401K mutual funds last spring and other other half into cash in September. 6 of the 7 are down since then and I have been earning good money in MM interest, so I'm ahead right? Well not quite, the 7th fund is PBHG growth and shares of that would be worth 15k more today than when I sold them. This dichotomy can't continue, but does the NAZ turn down, or do the others catch up? My money is on a slow steady water torture for the "regular stocks", and a painful drop for NAZ at some point followed by a prolonged Bear market. Do you use PnF much, I try to use it combined w/ TA. What is your take on the two as supporting methods? I look forward to hearing from you and I'll go back and read some of the past posts here. Jeff
