BOMBAY (Dow Jones)--Foreign institutional investors bought a net 1.37 billion rupees ($1=INR43.61) of Indian stocks Wednesday, the Securities & Exchange Board of India said Thursday.

The board releases daily purchase and sale figures with a day's lag.

Sales 2.77 bln 3.13 bln
Net purchases 1.37 bln (109.0 mln)

Foreign institutional investors bought a net INR 25.25 billion of Indian shares until Wednesday in February, compared with net purchases of INR1.51 billion in January, the board said.
