I predicted three weeks ago that COMS would go straight up to $85 by IPO day, and it looks that I'm right. There's simply no reason for anyone to sell prior to IPO day.

However, I plan to sell the day before the IPO. I've held COMS at an average price of $35, and its time to cash out.

I honestly believe the IPO will be a dissapointment. This is not going to be one of those up $120 initial trade days, rather I think a closing price near $25-$30 is likely, and that COMS will immediately get discounted.

Although we're all trying to be upbeat about post-Palm COMS, the company still looks like its in rotten shape without the jewel.

I was referring to coms possibly reaching 100. Isn't it frightening to think that markets are driven by the hot story of the day. I keep asking myself why the FED doesn't use their bully pulpit to get corporations to act with the best interest of their company's financial health rather than the short term stock performance. A much higher price and a much larger initial offering would certainly hold down the market price of palm and hence coms, but the result would be a much larger cash infusion into coms and a much sounder business strategy. If tax considerations interfere with this strategy the FED should get corrective legislation.

"People who have no concept of these financial details will think Palm at under $100 a share is "cheap" when they see CommerceOne, RedHat etc at prices in the $300 or $400 range."

You are absolutely correct. In this market, market cap means squat. At $100, Palm is $57bb market cap -- silly in my "old economy" book. But, in this climate the simple fact is Palm is the new, new thing and definitely should be a triple digit stock. Those of you that have a sophisticated finance background, do not make things too complicated with this IPO. Just enjoy the ride. And if you are in doubt, look around on the next 7 am flight and see how many Pilots there are in use then connect this dot with who is piling money into the market.

I would like to be more sophisticated that this but it has only cost me money in this mania, umm I mean market.
