Alliance Semiconductor Breaks Out
Stock of the Hour Feb 24 2000 8:26AM CST Archives...

by: Theo Spradlin

Alliance Semiconductor {ALSC} appeared in the 9:05 a.m. EST ProSearch run, Small Cap Issues Showing Bullish Action. The stock traded three times its thirty-day average volume yesterday to accompany its 15 percent gain. ALSC closed in the top ten percent of its daily range after climbing steadily. ALSC shows a one-week change in accumulation-distribution ranking of 12 percent - in the top ten percent of all stocks. This measure of upside volume indicates growing momentum. ALSC converged with its 30-day moving average line two trading days ago, and quickly found support at that technical juncture. The stock followed with yesterday's breakout through resistance at $19 on its heaviest upside volume since November. The stock moved from $13 to $19 in a six-week surge of almost 50 percent following that breakout. Yesterday's move higher could mark the beginning of the next upleg for ALSCs bullish long-term trend - the stock scores a fifty-two week gain of 485 percent.

Watch for momentum in the Semiconductor .ESE group today as Paine Webber announced strong expectations from some of the major players in the group. ALSC is being bid higher this morning and could move on the open.
