Didn't Solectron buy Smart Modular, and as such the stock is now more sensitive to fluctuations in memory prices? The other stocks, JBL, HDC, SCI, PLXS, FLEX, and CLS, seem to be doing better.

Flextronics is taking over Solectron? Know little and do not pay attention much about these, but my sis-in-law works at low level in Flex..and they are hiring more and lots of overtimes and 2 shifts.

Twister, One of the reasons I bought puts on Solectron in the high 80s was that they don't have just one problem, they have many. Here are some of them: 1. The customers are seeing lousy demand and have been for a long time now. 2. SLR got sucked into buying tons of DRAM at silly prices and now those have dropped 75-85%. They cannot make up the costs by charging the customers more. 3. There are many, many outsourcing cos. out there. 4. Some big outsourcing customers, Packard-Bell, for example, have said "no mas." 5. The stock was and is overpriced even without #s 1-4.
