Northern Telecom was not gobbled up by the Canadians.

It started out as a subsidiary of Bell Canada many years ago. It has since become Nortel and Bell Canada spun off its interest.

Lumonics made a smart move to merge with General Scanning which was bleeding money but together they are big enough to capitalize on their strength..

But alas, UTEK and SVGI will have to find other saviours.. Holding patiently....
